Access and services

Since the Documentation Centre exists within the context of the Museum, special conditions obtain for consulting and handling documents and printed material.

Any person who can produce proof of specific research concerning the Museum’s collections and main topics may access the Lake Geneva Documentation Centre. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Groups are not permitted unless specifically authorised.

Documents and handling of materials

Books and reviews can be freely accessed. Fragile documents that should be handled as little as possible may be accessed if their state of conservation permits.

Archives, posters, photographs and postcards, maps and plans may only be consulted with the prior permission of the curators.

Document research

For all document research please contact the Museum by e-mail or letter. You will receive a reply as soon as possible, within 30 days at latest. You will be billed for expenses if your research requires a search of more than half an hour in the collections.
